Outlook 2016/Office 365 Sign In Fix

Issue

A recent update to Outlook 2016 and Office 365 for Windows has caused some users to report they keep being prompted to sign in, even when the correct credentials have been used.

Resolution

  1. Click the Start Menu, Search for Notepad and click to Open



  2. Notepad will now Open



  3. Copy the Code below and paste into Notepad

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity] 
    "EnableADAL"=dword:00000000 
    "DisableADALatopWAMOverride"=dword:00000001 


  4. Go to File and Save As



  5. Choose a location to save the file (You will remember) then Change the Save as type to All Files and enter the filename of OutlookRegFix.reg



  6. Click Save



  7. Open the location where you save the file to and double click the file to run



  8. Click Yes to run the file (If you are not the admin you will be prompted to enter your admin password at this stage)



  9. Click Yes



  10. Click OK to Finish and Restart your PC
