Outlook 365/2016 Autodiscovery Fix

If you are experiencing issues setting up your hosted exchange mailbox (Essentials and Higher) with us on the Office 365/2016 version of outlook you will need to carry out these steps below, a recent update to Office has stopped autodiscovery working in the normal way and now if you have used the same email address you use with your hosted exchange mailbox on Office 365 your account will fail to setup

  1. Click the Start Menu, Search for Notepad and click to Open

  2. Notepad will now Open

  3. Copy the code below and paste into Notepad

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 




  4. Go to File and Save As

  5. Chose a location to save the file (You will remember) then Change the Save as type to All Files and enter the filename of OutlookRegFix.reg

  6. Click Save

  7. Open the location where you save the file to and double click the file to run

  8. Click Yes to run the file (If you are not the admin you will be prompted to enter your admin password at this stage)

  9. Click Yes

  10. Click OK to Finish and Restart your PC

  11. Now setup Outlook
